CURRENT PROJECT:

I joined the lab. at its inception in 1995 and act as the laboratory manager. I am responsible for all aspects of the smooth running of the laboratory and solving all the problems that arise! In addition, I do all the ES (embryonic stem) cell culture for the laboratory including conventional gene targeting and generating Cre/LoxP inversions and deletions. I am working on the " BARTMICE " reproductive mutagenesis project. I am responsible for the molecular aspects of the project. I am involved in cloning the transgenic breakpoints and identifying potential candidate genes using the ENSEMBL mouse genome sequence and other public databases. I am also working on new mutagenic vectors containing transposable elements which should simplify gene identification.
